Summary
The Land by Vita Sackville-West is a collection of poems that has recently come in to the public domain. The Land is her pastoral epic and in 1927 was awarded the Hawthornden Prize of Imaginative Literature. Written when Sackville-West became homesick for her beautiful home in Kent, it had six print runs within three years of its publication in 1926. She was always popular for her gardening, her lifestyle, and bohemian companions,, such as Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury group. Her nostalgia for farming and the beauty of the seasons is described with an artist's eye for detail
