Summary
Danni wanted to be free of The Ghede, not become one. Now, as a loa, she is sustained by the souls she controls -- the children she must protect. After leaving the priesthood, Michael searches for a new path deep in the Louisiana bayou under the guidance of an old hoodoo priest. Alone and struggling to strike a balance between the woman she was and the loa she is becoming, Danni finds herself face to face with an old evil working to destroy The Ghede from the inside, out. Starting with her. When Michael returns to New Orleans, he discovers zombies are rising from their graves, magic is running rampant in the streets, and protecting Danni means following her places he can't go. At least, not while he's alive
