This title introduces readers to Kevin Durant, the National Basketball Association all-star and three time scoring champion. Durant's life story is examined from his childhood in the Washington, DC area to his success at the University of Texas where his jersey number was later retired. Durant's years with the Oklahoma City Thunder are discussed, from his selection as second overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Seattle Supersonics to his selection as the 2008 NBA Rookie of the Year, to the team's relocation to Oklahoma and the team's trip to the 2012 NBA Finals to play against the Miami Heat.
