Summary
Father, lover, murderer. It's 1912 and Walter Cleary is a fugitive fleeing Ireland after killing his brother-in-law. Walter must choose between life or death, freedom or family. Finding refuge and work in the coal mines of South Wales, Walter is caught up in a life of poverty, injustice, adultery, love and murder while enduring the merciless life of the working class. Ensnared in a life of deception and living through some of history's greatest tragedies, Walter's life is altered forever, as every choice drags him deeper into moral turmoil.
