Summary
The Diary of Ethel Jones is the account of a young American missionary nurse who went to China in 1937, just prior to the start of the Second Sino-Japanese War. For five-years, she worked in a hospital in Kioshan Honan, in central China. Within the first year following her arrival in China, the war arrived at the doorstep of the hospital where she was serving. For the next four-years, she helped care for wounded Chinese soldiers and civilians while experiencing continued harassment from Japanese forces
