Summary
Black or White focuses on a grandfather who is forced to care for his mixed-race granddaughter after the tragic death of his own daughter. The young girl's paternal grandmother begins a legal fight for custody of the girl and unearths the family's underlying sentiments on race. The girl's grandmother wants her to live in Compton with her black family instead of struggling to find identity in a white-collar neighborhood. The film focuses on the racial tensions between blacks and whites and the forgiveness the family must find to care for the young girl
