Summary
Have you ever thought about your past and wanted to write about it? Do you have a desire to educate your family so they will know and remember? Have you ever gone back to where you were raised and the old neighborhood no longer existed? Do the memories of your loved ones live in your thoughts and in your heart every day? Do you ever wonder about what you did not do in life? This is the story of a man who answered YES to all these questions. George Lopez grew up during the Depression and World War II. He writes about growing up in Roberts City, a small, eclectic community in Tampa Florida. He tells about his experience in the hotel business during the late 1940's and 1950's in Miami Beach, his career as an asbestos worker, and times as a business agent. George talks about raising his daughter alone because his wife was hospitalized with mental illness. At this time, he continues to reminisce and enjoy the simple pleasures of life
