Summary
Liz Daniels, an energetic seven-year-old, learns firsthand what terminal cancer means when her grandma is diagnosed with breast cancer. The only thing Liz knows is that her grandma has had this disease for almost a year and now her family is making a sudden trip from Iowa to Minnesota to visit her. Over the next month, she and her two younger sisters spend every moment they can with their grandma. In Grandma's Last Lesson, Liz soon realizes the terrible side of cancer but does everything she can to make her grandma happy in her final days. Liz makes it her mission to make her grandma's last month as memorable as possible. She learns about hospice care as Grandma arrives home from the hospital and is scared about Grandma dying. Through these experiences, she realizes that God and her grandma's never-ending love will help her through her grief.
