Thrilled or not, Peterson has no problem scooping Brackett. Piqued by being outdone, with his credibility on the line and journalistic instincts rekindled, Brackett jabs back by scooping Peterson. As the rivals unearth evidence of corruption and murder, they also begin to uncover their feelings for each other. Only when the game gets deadly do the two team up.
