Summary
US Navy pilot Lieutenant Jon Zachery feels a sense of duty to serve in Vietnam when many are saying "Hell, no. I won't go." Deploying aboard aircraft carrier USS Solomon's, he lives in the Junior Officer Bunkroom with four other pilots and one anti-war oriented officer. The JOB, he discovers, operates to its own set Rules of Engagement and social conduct. Zachery's wife Teresa, back home with two small children, and living on a navy base, contends with the necessity to be two parents and to connect with her husband only through letters for months, and all the while, she is beset with worries over her husband's dangerous occupation
